UNAS Access

Overview

UNAS Access is an independent app for connecting to a UniFi NAS that you choose to access. The app is designed to keep account credentials, connection settings, and file data on your device or on the NAS and services you connect to. UNAS Access is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Ubiquiti Inc.

No App Backend

UNAS Access does not collect analytics, does not operate an app backend, and does not send your personal data, credentials, filenames, media, usage activity, or diagnostics to servers controlled by us.

Where Network Communication Happens

Communication happens only between the local app and the endpoints needed for the connection mode you choose: your own UniFi hardware or NAS, and official UniFi/Ubiquiti services when you use UniFi account sign-in or remote access. UNAS Access does not proxy your NAS traffic through servers operated by us.

Information the App Uses

The app may store connection profiles, sign-in tokens, cookies, server addresses, selected folders, transfer state, and backup preferences locally on your device. These values are used to connect to your NAS, resume transfers, integrate with the Files app, and run configured backup tasks. This information is only saved on your device and is not uploaded to servers controlled by us. We do not provide or operate any channel for collecting these credentials, tokens, connection records, or file metadata.

Photos, Videos, and Files

If you enable photo or video backup, the app reads the media items needed for that backup and uploads them to the folder you select. The app does not sell, rent, or use your media for advertising, and it does not upload your media to servers controlled by us.

Third-Party Services

When you sign in with a UniFi account or connect through UniFi remote access, authentication and connectivity are handled by Ubiquiti services. Their own terms and privacy practices apply to those services.

Diagnostics

Public issue reports are provided voluntarily through GitHub. Do not include passwords, API keys, session cookies, private tokens, or other secrets when opening issues.
